This morning while we were still at the hotel, the bottom dropped out of the skies and Florida showed off it's capabilities to drown you in the shortest amount of time!! Winds picked up and blew the rain crosswise. One last blast before hurricane season ends tomorrow.

One Last Check Before Lights Out

We are all whipped after a long day getting to Ft. Lauderdale.
Weather here is a very balmy 83 degrees with 15-20 mile per hour winds.

We walked to a sports bar for dinner this evening, so had to come back to the hotel where it was quiet to have meaningful conversation.

We are at the Hampton in Ft. Lauderdale and will board
our ship in the morning.

Best B and B Stop!

Stayed overnight in Jacksonville with long time friend, Lina.

We left Jacksonville early Sunday morning and headed to 

Ft Lauderdale where we stay overnight before boarding our 

ship tomorrow.  Weather here in Ft. Lauderdale is 83 degrees and windy.

It is Christmas and we are cruising!!

                            

                                          

                             

The poinsettias have arrived, beautiful as ever. All in this basket for just $8.00. The Christmas cactus are also in full bloom from plants over 100 years old. The red and green looks like holiday time, but it is called Party Time ( alternanthuria. ) This came from the Beehler family and could also be 100 years old. We just keep cutting and rooting and have many beautiful plants. The legacy of three grandmothers lives on. Thank you Grandmas Beehler, Beery and Smith.

Traveling Buddies

This next month, we are traveling to the Caribbean and the Panama Canal.  Once again, we are with our long time Purdue friends and traveling buddies, Lydia and Jerry Beehler.

           

       

                        

                                  

                               

Lydia and Jerry didn't travel with us on the Rivercruise this spring, so they thought we needed a cruise together.  Over Labor Day, we managed to book this cruise.  Then it sounded like a long way away, but now we are less than a week away.

One would never guess that this is my 10th or 11th blog as it has taken me forever to set it up.  Changing platforms from my laptop to the IPad hasn't helped.  We are 11 days away from sailing and I need to post our itinerary.
